Access to the database

At present, access to the CBDG data is subject to the same regulations that apply to other geological information owned by the State Treasury. Further information concerning the regulations is to be found on the websites of the Central Geological Archives and the Department of Geology and Geological Concessions of the Ministry of the Environment.

Internet access

The CBDG website contains a number of tools that enable the users to search for both textual and spatial (GIS) information. Moreover, it is possible to export data to .csv and .xml files. The User’s Manual shows many effective ways to search for and view data.

Intranet access

The CBDG data are also available in the Reading Room of the Central Geological Archives (Room 2s, Building A, Tuesday – Friday, 9.00-15.30), which is equipped with computers, with the CBDG software installed, as well as a printer. Explanations of how to search the database for information are offered by the CGA employee on duty. Available for all interested in the CBDG data, the CGA computers provide the wider scope of information than the CBDG Internet service. Users that are not PGI employees have access to all the public data when browsing the CBDG in the Reading Room
